Do you connect to the food you eat like you’re communing with a good friend? Do you hear angelic singing when you follow a food craving? Come learn how to unlock food magic like this when we approach food with Unshaming Somatic awareness! During our time together, we'll explore the sounds, movements and sensations of truly embodied eating, as well as the emotions and connections that food evokes in us. Instead of dinner conversation, expect to hear (and make) moans and growls, hoots and sighs as we shake, sway, prance… however the food moves us!
We will begin our time together with an Unshaming Somatic session where we’ll take an embodied journey to uncover hidden aspects of ourselves connected to our cravings. We’ll then move to the dining area where a selection of culinary delights awaits. Eli will continue to guide the group somatically as we learn to connect to eating with our whole beings; letting our senses guide, following our cravings & hungers, getting drawn to our food, eating with our fingers, savoring each bite, gnawing, sighing, swaying, humming…
We’ll end the workshop feeling sated, uplifted and deeply aware of just how nourishing, healing and sustaining our relationship to food can be. The goal of this work is to help individuals access the breadth of knowledge and tools available to them, not just facts and ideas, but also Somatic intelligence and awareness. From this place of true embodied wisdom, we can not only make informed, intentional choices about what and how we eat, but about how we can live our most authentic and fulfilling lives.
Participants should wear clothes you're comfortable moving in and getting dirty. Workshops can be taken as stand alone or a series.
